353 days gone, 12 to go..

Yes, there's only 12 days until our wedding day.. I have to admit, that I'm a bit nervous and.. Lot's of everything!

Only year a go Timo told me that he has had enough of loneliness, and he didn't want to be alone ever again. So he had called to Reposaari's vicar and asked for free days. :) So here we are, getting married in two weeks. Getting proposed that way is the best way for me, cos that way I really knew that he wants to get married.

This year has gone by so fast. Propably faster than any other year before - autumn went by while I was writing my thesis and working at Pori, this spring has went even faster by doing all the arrangements and working.

Feels funny that THE DAY is so near, because it has needed a lot of work and planning... And in one day it's all over. On the 13th day (from today) I'm Mrs. Majander. Somehow that seems a bit freaky.. :D

But first, bachelorette party on saturday... ;)

Badminton

It's been a while, but hey.. I'm still tired. Idon't know what kind of a bug I have in me, but I think I'll survive.

Today is the day when we leave to Pori, with our department. Actually in 40 minutes. Right now I'm on my own here, cos others are in a Strategy meeting - I'm not aloud to participate such meetings.. (Referring to my earlier post on employee renting firms)

I'm going to be a gym class leader :) First I have this class on last of August and then in September I'll start a clas of my on at TNV. I'm excited about that! :)

Last weekend I shopped a bit: New cycling helmet f.e. cis I'm going to start biking to work (about 7km)! And of course I bought flowers and stuff to our backyard (isn't that big..)

and Timo bought something that is going to be (in my mind) a life saver for us.. Believe or not - badminton rackets! Now we can play together.. You know, there isn't novadays a lot we really do together, so I see this as an opportunity to really have a shared hobby. I hope I'll get better in badminton, cos now timo can't play seriously with me :D But - come on and watch, it's at least funny see me stumbling!

Veni, vidi, vici.
Old Tallin was beautiful, the weather was fabulous and liquers were bought. Nobody got stolen, neither dad's Volvo, our bags nor liquers. It was really a succes. :) I'll add some pictures when I get some from Jenni or Veli (those two photographed all the time! I didn't dare to take my own..)

Now it's first of May and I'm at Pori, for a little holiday. Mom is here also with Erik. Now I got my shoes, and they're perfect size. :) I'm glad that I'm here, cos I found out that Timo was really drunk yesterday night! Not that big surprise, but still it's easier for me to endure it from here ;)

I'm quite tired, I don't know why.. I'm going to rest couple of days. Hope I feel better tomorrow.

Estonia, here we come

Tomorrow we'll travel to Tallin, Estonia.. And "funny" thing happened. I didn't think I'd need any passport etc. to travel there.. And I was wrong. Actually I didn't think about that at all cos Estonia is a part of Schengen area, were passports really shouldn't be needed. But of course, you have to have some kind of legal ID like passport or this "henkilökortti" (not drivers license "of course"). I was so embarrased!! I, who had arranged this trip.. Only one of us seven that didn't have that kind of ID (matkustusasiakirja..) But now it's arranged - I'll get a Express-passport from Helsinki at saturday morning. But I had to pay 80€ of it.. Not that nice.

And I was at rehealsal make-up at tuesday! It will be wonderful. Timos cousin Maikku is very skilled and there will be green and brown on my eye lid... :) I'm so happy that this works!

I got the new ring at monday, and now it's perfect... :)

Now I only should get more hair to my hairdo. Any ideas? Seldom hairpieces are made of real hair and we can't use those.. I'll go and look for a real hair "strip" from one place..

And yes - my job will go on to the end of sebtemper! (at least, I hope..) I'm going to be a marketing assistant.. And of course.. I'm project manager too :) Of our place's employees day! I'm so happy about that. And I can also attend our departments own day at Pori (heheh..) - It's not that obvious cos I'm from a staff leasing firm.. But you know what, I feel like home here. I sure hope I could stay here even longer!

Yes! invitation, envelope and information letter are ready! :)
Timo's dad send me this version of invitation package and oh.. When I first laid my eyes on that envelope.. It really looks like us! Olive green envelope with black monogram and address text. It felt so good, when hard work pays of. And then, the invitation it self - perfect to me! It also looks like us, the light green is good and goes perfect with the brown we've used. And so, envelope and invitation goes together too! I'm so glad. They will be printed next week and we can send them before May Day.

Then the ring. We've decided with the jewelery salesman that he sends me that ring of size 16,8mm. And actually he send it already today! :) So it will propably arrive at monday. Such good service I may add. Thank you Jasmine Jewels and Tapio Virtanen!

Now I go and relax with my white wine and my first wedding magazine and hair magazine. Next project: Hair and Make up!

Wrong ring..

Yes, they send me a wrong ring!
Well, it was the same model but 8 mm wide insteat of 5 mm. Of course it didn't look so "petite" on my finger.. :) So I had to send it back.

And again, problem with the sizes - they don't have my size 16,5 mm on that narrower ring.. Smallest is 16,8 mm! :) But ofcourse they can order a ring of my size, it will only last a bit longer. Thank god we ordered them now and not at next month.

And happy news - my shoes have arrived and mommy will bring them on May Day eve to Finland! Or exactly I will go to Pori.. That will be fun, I will arrange a meeting with our catering service. And lots of that kind of stuff!

On saturday 26th we will go to Estonia! :) With my daddy's family.. All seven of us! We will shop all liquers to the wedding and after that we'll be just tourists looking around Tallin. That will be fun also!

This weekend Timo will go to Säkylä - he'll addend a army's excersice (kertausharjoitus). He's been only 9 months out of army, so it's a bit funny!! :D I'll have a whole weekend to my self - and I surely need it too.

I've been so tired this week.. I don't really know why, but it almost feels like something has sugged energy out of me.

Maybe that's because I know have/had so much to do this week. And because I got a little scared because my joints started to hurt a bit last week. Now I realize I started those gym classes way too strong. Joints started to react after third day going to gym every day... This week I went only to one class, or really two classes one after another. Now I've looked up few couple days apart. That might work. I hope..

This weekend I have still a lot to do. Tomorrow we have to go to Ideapark mall to find those envelopes and napkins. Then on sunday we'll go to Pori and make some arrangements there. But, next week we don't have that much to do :)

And can you imagine, our certificate of non-impediment (esteettömyystodistus) came - now we can officially get married! :) There's no legal obsticle to that.

A wedding-blog?

It seems that this blog of mine has become a kind of wedding-blog.. Oh, well there's not that much sparetime left after these wedding arrangements..

Today we have opened new bank account to me and moved Timos account from Länsi-Suomen Osuuspankki to Tampereen Osuuspankki. Then we also opened a account together, for our wedding... This way we can center our banking and insurances (all insurances in Pohjola). And in a long run it's easier to get loans etc. when we are at the same bank.

Last weekend I bought a purse, a scarf and a kind of cape to my wedding gown.. I sure hope that soon these all little things have been acquired cos it not that cheap! Mom will order pumps for me, propably tomorrow, from Vagabond Sweden (and ordering swedish shoes in Sweden is easier there than here).. Because I haven't found good shoes of my size (35) from here. Those are beautiful white leather pumps with 65mm heels, just perfect and simple enough!

Today I arranged with Timos cousin that she will make my make up to wedding! Yes. That's so perfect, cos she's trained cosmetician and works here at Tampere as hair dresser.. So I can go to a rehearsal make up here, and then she's able to make the real make up at Pori because she's also coming to the wedding. And then another hair dresser makes my hairdo, cos I made a logo to her business and that will be my pay.. And oh, she lives at Harjavalta, so I have to go to a rehearsal hairdo there, at 3.5. But then she will come to Pori at wedding day. It might seem a bit complicated... :)

And wedding car will be Timos another cousins old school Chrysler PT Cruiser and I've asked Timos aunt to make our flower arrangements.. Well, everybody gets to do a lot! What else..? I keep feeling that I've forgotten something. I'm going to overload my capasity..

Timo will go to Pori tomorrow to fetch those permits and this week we'll acquire stamps and envelopes to invitations.. and we'll see napkin samples and everything :)

And a lot of work. Everybody whose going to get married: get a assistent to do all this!!
Invitations will be send at the end of this month...

And also.. We don't have a priest yet. The priest we wanted is having a holiday at the time, so he can't come. Now we try to have another priest we know. He's also nice, actually Reposaaris vicar (fin. kirkkoherra). Lets hope for the best, fingers crossed!

Long time no see..

Yes, it's been a while.
But I have done a lot. Even now I have only 20 minutes until I have to leave to buss stop - I'm going to a gym class.

I've been in 2 classes per week and now I'm going to try 3 times in a week! :) I've really enjoyed those classes.

We made those 75 on Easter and then I made the rest (100) on last thursday, friday and on saturday. Of course it helped a lot when everybody (in Majander family) cut and rolled aphorisms ready for me!

And there's been so much to do with wedding!!! Like invitations and searching addresses to invitees.. And we found out today that all of our guests need parking and passing permits to come to our wedding ceremony at Reposaaris church. That's because of Reposaari vacation housing exhibition. Exhibition starts only a day before our wedding. Timo will get permits at next thursday from Pori.

This kind of stuff and a lot to do!

Lollipops and thighs

My mind is now spinning around two things.. My legs are really sore and I know now what I'm going to do on Easter.

I went to that latino-mix class on sunday like I mentioned and oh my god! Like I've never done anything with my thighs!! We did a lot of muscle condition moves with thighs - AND THEY ARE STILL HURTING! What a wake up call. This was the last time to do something about it. Today I have to go to a power shaping class, so it might get better.. or worse.

And about our weding candies. We've decited that heart shaped (cherry flavor) lollipops are our wedding candies. They have a really colourful-clown faced wrapping, so we have to wrap them again.. to a cellophane. :) And then of course we have to ad a aphorism to each and tie it up with a nice satin ribbon bow.. And I did that for two hours yesterday evening - 23 done, 177 to go.

So I really do know what I'm going to do on Easter. We bag up our things (and whole herd) and to Pori on thursday.. :)

Yes,
I'm going to go and join Tampere's women gymnasts! That way I can go to different gymnastic classes - like flow, latino-mix and so on. I'm so happy! I've missed gymnastic excersices so much after I haven't been to any after Pori..

So, I'm really going to be at shape at June! :) And also, my joints are now perfectly healthy, so I can do what ever I want.. I can't wait to get in to great shape again.

Weekend was so busy, but lot of fun. We went to see Sweeney Todd and it was guaranteed Burton-Depp (and Bonham-Carter) quality! (see widget under) Those two days went by so fast, that I really hadn't time to do anything reasonable...

I also added a Last FM widget to my blog on friday, take a listen to music like Apocalyptica, or get your own "radio"!

ps. I solved my dilemma, as you can see.. now on texts will be written on Trebuchet MS, it's also quite beautiful - don't you think?

serif/sans serif

I have a dilemma.. I know that sans serif/grotesk font would be better to read from screen, but I think that this serif/antique Georgia looks better.. :)

Georgia is big and round font, so it is easier to read than for example Times. And it goes better with other layout.. For that I would like some opinions, which looks better and is easier to read?? Thanks very many.

I really would appreciate a working image processing software!!
I have like a zillion things I would want to do.. Soon I really have to buy that Adobes CS3 package, because it would be crusial when I start my (little) firm of visual design.

Arrghh.. I'm just not used to be without those softwares. First of all today came up one detail of our wedding monogram and I can't fix it by my self (which I would do in a minute) and I have to ask for help etc. Very frustrating.

So, let's hope something happens in this area before I forget how those things work.. Or before I loose it.. X)

Sea

It was really nice to 1) hear the sea and 2) feel&see the sea again. Timos parents live by the sea at Reposaari, so we went for a walk by the coast line. We saw this weird light phomenon at the sky :)

And we ate, drunk coffee and ate again! It was a lot of fun and really refreshing - we didn't have to think about the money or anything at all. A real miniatyre vacation.

Of course there was a lot of talk about the wedding and stuff.. I'll write about it more at the end of the week, when I can show a prototype of our wedding candies!

Leap of faith..

I have finally realized that belong to university..

I took a kind of leap of faith and applied to a master's degree of Hypermedia in Tampere University.
This is something I really want to do. I want to be a Specialist of Digital Culture. I've alreadyt thought of all the things I would study and research..
Actually I've always known that some day I will study at University, but I've also been sceptic about their attitude to a bachelor's degree at University of Applied Sciencies. And now it's our time to show of! :)

And all of you, who supported me with my settlement: I'M SO GRATEFUL, THANK YOU!!
I've told only 5 persons about this, so you can see that I really really want this! (Me who shouts everything aloud haven't even told my mother yet..) And I know there's not that many people who are reading this, so be gentle with your mouth.. :) Thanks. I will announce this in the beginning of May, if and when I get the place.

We will go to Pori tomorrow and see our families! :) I've already missed them so much.. (which I can't believe) And we will stay over at Timos parents.

What a week..

So.. I've been at my ny job for four whole days.. And it's been such fun, exciting and time has gone by so fast..

I've already started with the real thing - up-dating their client register. Co-workers are really nice and it's been a laugh.. Work tasks aren't too hard to handle and technically there won't be big problems. My title is Data processor, "Tietojen käsittelijä", but I also look forward to other marketing tasks they might have for me.. :)

At first day I earned my first "points", because I was already familiar with this software they are using, and having bit problems with it. I've worked with that software for about a year and a half, so I guess I could help them at times.. Quite amazing that something like that happens, it really was ment to be my job, I think. Actually it wasn't even mentioned in the job interwiew, because it wasn't supposed to be a part of my job, but now.. who knows? This could be a major thing in my future.

As you can see, everything alright at this time.. I'm quite sure that everythings going to be alright in the future too.

Nerves

I think I'm not feeling well.. I had little bit fever yesterday.. Buhuuu..
Do you think this could be because I haven't been to my Almost Daily Walk after friday? I sooo hope so, because tomorrow is my big day and I wan't to be at my best!

And as you can read between the lines - I'm quite nerveus, as everebody on the Eve of a new job. Right? But still I'm excited and really looking forward tomorrow and all the new things I pumb in to. I have already desited what I'm going to wear.. I had a bargain today and bought perfectly fine scarf and shirt on such rediculous price I can't even tell it.. :)

So, tomorrow I'll write how it went.. uu..

Yes, now it's the day I up-dated my blog - it's been quite a while.

This blog tells a story of a young woman struggling in her world.. Is it a fairytale all day, every day all year round? Probably not.. It really can be a bit boring at times, but I try to make sure that there's allways something there in my Thursdays.

At first you may notice, that I'm planning my faery wedding and my head is in clouds - please, make me come down! :) I really love faeries (same as fairies.. meaning those little people with wings..) and I have always wanted to explore them by drawing. So that's why I want my wedding to be such a faery "thing"..

Another thing you may notice is that I can be little confused by all kinds of stuff - I've just gratuated 1.2.2008 as a Bachelor of Culture and Arts and I'm going to start at a new job in a new town.. Not completely new town, I just haven't worked here yet! :) So my first day is next Tuesday.

I've been a real life housewife from the beginning of the year - I haven't had a job, I have been home all day long, I've cooked, I've cleaned, I've baked my first cheesecake and yesterday I made bread for the first time.. So I'm quite ready to explode - I want out! It's been a while since I've been this much at home. So, I'm kinda happy it's going to end.. Believe me, my husband-to-be isn't.. :)

Still, I have a confession to make, I'm still going to make buns on Saturday..
